Portraits from Blerick

A pilot project has been developed for the Vastenavondkamp district in Blerick on behalf of Cultuur-developer Venlo.

Passers-by were portrayed with a pinhole camera (without lens and with a small hole) and 120 film. Exposure times were 10 to 30 seconds. For so long one had to sit still so that time was experienced.

The long exposure time creates portraits that almost literally get under the skin of the participants, creating an intimate dialogue with Blerick and its inhabitants.

Ultimately, these portraits are brought together in an exhibition where the participants meet each other.
